Why Goodies and the Gospel?
✨Hello from Goodies and the Gospel✨
We would like to take a moment to tell you a SWEET little testimony of how Goodies and the Gospel came to be. My name is Chelsea, and I am so very excited to share these stories with you! To get started I'll dive into how I personally got here.
I wish I could start this story saying that I have always been saved since I was a little girl, but TRUTH is I can't. While I did grow up in a church and I have always believed that God exists, I did not understand the truth of REPENTANCE and SALVATION until I was much older. I spent my youth and most of my adult life keeping the Lord tucked away in my pocket for emergencies and only went to Him when I seemed to be in a pickle. Living life for myself and serving my own flesh I was definitely an example of what they call a "hot mess".
When my uncle passed way in December of 2020, in a small living room in Nebraska, a simple conversation with a family member turned into the Holy Spirit drawing my heart. I heard things said about God and what the bible ACTUALLY says that I hadn't heard before. Well, honestly, I probably had heard it before but was so stuck in my selfish ways I just used that thing called "selective hearing" my kids can be so good at every now and then. 😂
I left with a stirred heart and so many questions. The two main ones rattled in my head all day every day.
#1 -Where am I really at with the Lord?
#2- How do I know if I am actually saved?
For some reason I couldn't let these questions go or return to the day to day I was used to. So, I reached back out to my cousin and asked these to questions that were now keeping me up at night. She said something that I will never ever forget. Well ok two somethings...
Her answer was "When you know, you know, you know." Of course, my reply was "HUH???" To which her follow up was "Pray about it." Super detailed and well laid out answers, right? Then, at that time, definitely not...but now.... I get it 🥰
So that is exactly what I did. For 5 or 6 straight nights as I crawled into bed, I called out the Lord asking where I stood with him. Then, January 7th, 2021, it happened! I repented of my sins and trying to live my life my way and asked the Lord to be the MASTER of my life. I, in that exact moment, CHOSE to live my life for Christ. The weight and restless was gone. That night, finally after the last 5 or 6 miserable nights, I had the most amazing REST. I had found TRUE LIBERTY in the Lord. 💖 My life DRAMATICALLY changed. I changed how I dressed, how I spoke, who I hung out with, all of it. My husband thought I had lost my mind. Little did he know he would be SAVED a few months after!
1 Peter 3:1 (KJV) "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;"
⏩⏩Fast forward⏩⏩ We found a doctrinally sound New Testament, bible LOVING and LIVING, local church in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Shiloh Baptist Church, and moved there. Just like that.... here we are. God put Goodies and the Gospel on our hearts to take delicious baked treats and New Testament Bibles, that our local church printed (more on this to come😉), to our nearby neighbors. In just a week, God showed us we couldn't stop there. The idea developed into reaching out at local events, posting on social media and starting a blog. None of this would be possible at all without our LORD AND SAVIOUR. We PRAY that every second of our time here and all that we do is used to HONOR God and do His great will! After all, His will and ways are PERFECT!!!
This is just my story 😁
